Turtle Lake serves as a central landmark within this portion of the Spokane Indian Reservation in Stevens County. The high-relief landscape is defined by a series of prominent peaks, including Spokane Mtn, Bear Mtn, and Deer Mtn, which tower over the surrounding drainages. A network of Bureau of Indian Affairs routes, such as BIA Highway 3 and BIA Highway 42, provides the primary infrastructure through the timbered ridges of Grouse Ridge.
