Tyee Mountain Lookout stands as a prominent vantage point over the Wenatchee National Forest, where high ridgelines and deep canyons define the drainages of the Entiat River and the Mad River. The landscape is a network of steep elevations marked by Hornet Ridge, Gold Ridge, and Tyee Ridge, the latter featuring a series of numbered water sources like Tyee Ridge Spr No 3.

Evidence of human activity is scattered throughout this wilderness area, from the backcountry Young Creek Shelter and Camp Nine to industrial sites like a Gravel Pit and an unnamed Mine near Stormy Creek. The convergence of McKenzie Canyon and Potato Creek into the Entiat valley illustrates the complex hydrology of the Chelan County mountains, preserved here with topography compiled in the 1960s and updated through the early 2000s.
