Virginia Peak and Loco Mtn dominate this high-altitude landscape along the border of Meagher and Park counties. This terrain is characterized by a network of drainage systems feeding the Shields River, which flows through the southern portion of the sheet. The area is largely managed as public land, split between the Lewis & Clark National Forest to the north and the Gallatin National Forest to the south.
