Walupt Lake lies at the center of this high-elevation landscape, where the borders of Snoqualmie National Forest and Gifford Pinchot National Forest meet along the Lewis and Yakima county line. The terrain is defined by dramatic ridgelines and glacial features, including Conrad Glacier and Meade Glacier tucked beneath the heights of Gilbert Peak and the Goat Rocks. This alpine environment is a critical corridor for mountain travel, evidenced by the winding path of the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail as it crosses Cispus Pass.
