Warm Springs Reservoir dominates the northeastern corner of this drainage-rich landscape in Harney County. The area is defined by a dense network of water sources, from major arteries like Warm Springs Creek and Little Stinkingwater Creek to numerous named seeps such as Star Spring, Mahogany Spring, and Stockade Spring. This 2023 edition highlights a modern ranching and water-management landscape, where livestock and wildlife rely on scattered catchments including Big Boulder Reservoir and Bobcat Reservoir. High ground transitions from the prominence of Buck Mtn in the south up to Buzzard Ridge along the western boundary. Cultural markers like Chicken Flat and the depressions of Texaco Basin and Little Stinkingwater Basin illustrate the localized naming conventions of the high desert interior, while Warm Springs Rd provides the primary transit route through the gulches and flats.
