Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument occupies this portion of the Sonoran Desert along the international border, where the lower elevations of the La Abra Plain meet the rising slopes of the Puerto Blanco Mountains. This 2021 survey documents the remote landscape south of the Cipriano Hills, defined by seasonal drainages such as Aguajita Wash and a network of desert routes that follow the contours of the basin.
