The Salish Sea coastline defines the northern edge of this map, where the waters of Clallam Bay meet the heavily forested drainage basins of the Olympic Peninsula. The interior is characterized by the complex water system of the Pysht River and its numerous tributaries, including the South Fork Pysht River and Salmonberry Creek. This landscape reflects a contemporary intersection of conservation and commercial timber interests, bounded to the south by the Olympic National Forest and marked elsewhere by the H R Tree Farm.
