The Jefferson River meanders across a landscape defined by the convergence of multiple county lines, including the borders of Jefferson, Broadwater, Gallatin, and Madison. This 2017 survey shows the settlement of Willow Creek at the intersection of early pioneer trails and modern transit, notably the Old Yellowstone Trl. The agricultural character of the valley is evident in the network of irrigation systems such as Bittleman Ditch and Highland Ditch, which support the farms and ranches surrounding the town.
