Southern reaches are defined by the winding course of the Little Manatee River and the protected lands of the Little Manatee River State Park. This area remains significantly more rural, with the small community of Willow situated near the southern border at the Manatee County line. Waterways such as Bullfrog Creek and Dug Creek cut through the terrain, illustrating the hydrologic network that feeds into the river basin amidst suburban expansion and agricultural pockets.
