Lake Superior defines the northwestern coastline of this Copper Country landscape, where the waters of Misery Bay meet the mouth of the Misery River. The terrain inland is a complex network of drainage basins, including the Little Misery River and the North Branch Misery River. In the southeastern corner, the settlements of Winona and Wyandotte represent the historic mining and timber corridor of the Upper Peninsula.
