Lewis & Clark National Forest encompasses much of this high-elevation landscape in Montana, where prominent peaks like Wolf Butte and Granite Mtn rise above a complex network of coulees and gulches. The terrain is marked by significant topographical relief, including Taylor Peak and the Blacktail Hills, which overlook drainages such as Surprise Cr and Dry Wolf Cr.
