Woodruff and its southern agricultural hinterlands are defined by the winding course of the Enoree River, which forms the boundary between Spartanburg Co and Laurens Co. The landscape is a network of rural settlements and family-named infrastructure, including the small community of Youngs and the junction at Martin Crossroads. Numerous historic crossings bridge the river, such as Allens Bridge, Nesbits Bridge, and Harris Bridge, illustrating the long-standing transport patterns of the Piedmont region.
