Nez Perce National Forest and Bitterroot National Forest meet in this high-elevation wilderness, where the drainage systems of Running Cr and Warm Springs Cr define the steep landforms. The topography is dominated by a series of prominent peaks and high ridges, including Wylies Peak and its namesake Wylies Ridge to the north, and the distinctive Box Car Mtn and Diamond Rock to the west.
