About this map

Mason Valley's industrial and agricultural landscape is captured here during the mid-1980s, centered on the city of Yerington and the intensive mining operations of the Singatse Range. The most prominent feature is the massive Yerington Mine, including its tailings and a significant open pit west of the city. To the west, the mountains are honeycombed with extractive history, from the Bluestone Mine and Mason Valley Mine in the north down to the Western Nevada Mine and Mc Connell Mine.
