The East Walker River snakes through this high desert landscape along the border of Lyon and Mineral counties, carving a green corridor through the arid terrain. This agricultural and ranching environment is defined by its water management systems, including the Strosnider E Ditch, Lower Charlebois Ditch, and Upper Charlebois Ditch, which redirect river flow to support local land use. To the south, the terrain rises into the Toiyabe National Forest, where the Cambridge Hills break the horizontal expanse of the Pine Grove Flat.
