1998 Map of Abbott Lake

USGS Topo · Published 2001

About this map

Kiowa National Grassland dominates this high-plains landscape, where the boundary between Colfax and Harding counties meets at a series of working ranch lands. Water remains the primary shaper of the terrain, from the prominent Abbott Lake to the drainage networks of Sauz Creek and Salado Creek. These seasonal watercourses, including the Arroyo Salado Creek, carve through the grasslands toward the Ojo de Verde Spring in the southeast corner.
