A string of communities including Acme, Delco, and Livingston follows the clear east-west corridor of the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad, illustrating how transportation infrastructure dictated the settlement patterns of Brunswick and Columbus Counties. To the south, the terrain becomes more uniform, marked by the drainage of Livingston Creek and the isolated clearing at Prosper.
