About this map

Adolph and Elkwater anchor the rugged drainage basins of the Tygart Valley River and its numerous tributaries in this portion of the Monongahela National Forest. The landscape is dominated by the steep, parallel orientations of Rich Mountain and Mill Ridge, which channel waterways like Mill Creek and Birch Fork through narrow hollows. In the south, the Tygart Valley opens up near the settlement of Lee Bell, while the western highlands are marked by distinctive peaks such as High Germany Knob and Blue Rock Knob.
