Alamo Dam and the expansive waters of Alamo Lake form the centerpiece of this desert terrain on the boundary of Mohave and La Paz counties. The landscape is defined by the elevation changes between the Rawhide Mountains to the north and the Buckskin Mountains to the south. A complex network of ephemeral drainage systems, including Ives Wash, Spenser Wash, and Cunningham Wash, illustrates the hydrologic patterns of the region.
