Albany Island and the surrounding coastline of Lake Huron define this northern Michigan landscape along the edges of Clark Township. The shoreline is marked by sheltered waters at Albany Harbor and Albany Bay, protected by the prominence of Huron Point. Inland, the geography is characterized by a dense network of freshwater bodies, including Big Trout Lake, Caribou Lake, and Cranberry Lake, connected by smaller waterways such as Joe Straw Creek and Trout Creek.
