Alec Butte rises as the central landmark of this high-desert landscape in southeastern Oregon, documented during a 2014 survey. The area is defined by a seasonal drainage network where Big Stick Cr and Wilson Cr wind through the township boundaries of T25S and T26S. Human modification of the arid terrain is visible through small-scale water management features such as Shroder Reservoir and Big Tank, essential for supporting livestock in the open range of Harney County.
