Alkali Peak and the surrounding high desert of Humboldt County define this landscape within the Sheldon Antelope Range. The map reveals a complex network of springs, such as Chokecherry Spring and Big Buckaroo Spring, which serve as vital water sources in an otherwise arid basin. These natural features, alongside Alkali Reservoir and the expansive Alkali Flat, illustrate the hydrologic patterns of the Great Basin. To the south, the terrain descends into Virgin Valley and the High Rock Canyon Hills, where the isolated Wild Horse Pasture and Box Canyon suggest the historic grazing and movement of livestock. A single thoroughfare, Cedarville Rd, provides the only major vehicle access through this remote corner of Nevada.
