Keyesville anchors the southeastern corner of this study, positioned near the historic mining districts of Kern County. The landscape is dominated by the high elevations of the Sequoia National Forest, where the Greenhorn Mountains rise to prominent landmarks such as Greenhorn Summit and Shirley Peak. This 2018 survey reveals a terrain defined by complex drainages and high-altitude plateaus, including the recreation-focused Shirley Meadows and the open expanse of Evans Flat.
