The Dirty Devil River winds through a landscape of deep drainages and high plateaus in this part of Wayne County. The river's path is marked by dramatic geological shifts, including the Upper Sand Slide and Lower Sand Slide, where the canyon walls transition into the surrounding heights. To the west, the high ground of Guss Knoll overlooks Hells Hole Canyon, while the eastern side is defined by the prominent Angel Point and the vast expanse of the Burr Desert.
