Angeles Point reaches into the Salish Sea on this coastline where the Elwha River meets the strait. The community of Lower Elwha sits at the heart of this landscape, surrounded by a network of local roads such as Place Rd and Hunt Rd. To the east, the outskirts of Port Angeles appear, including the William R Fairchild International Airport and the Ocean View Cem. The shoreline is defined by the sheltered waters of Freshwater Bay and the small Beach Lake, while the international maritime boundary between Canada and the United States of America is marked to the north. This survey illustrates the modern interface between the tribal lands of the Lower Elwha Klallam and the growing infrastructure of the Olympic Peninsula.
