The Kevin-Sunburst Oil Field dominates the northern reaches of this Toole County landscape, where industrial resource extraction meets the drainages of the high plains. Water management is central to this environment, evidenced by the presence of Suphellen Reservoir and the Suphellen Dam near the Oilmont Hwy, as well as the Lipton Dam further south. The terrain is defined by distinct northern coulees, specifically Picadilly Coulee and Taylor Coulee, which cut through the open country. A rigid grid of rural routes, including Gus Blaze Rd, Telstad Rd, and Seward Rd, provides access to the scattered homesteads and oil infrastructure that characterize this portion of Montana.
