Aspen Grove and the mountain resort community of Sundance anchor this high-elevation study of the Wasatch Front, where the Uinta National Forest meets the steep eastern slopes of the Wasatch Range. The landscape is dominated by the massive relief of Mt Timpanogos and the Mount Timpanogos Wilderness, characterized by glacial features like Big Provo Cirque and numerous dramatic drainages including Bear Canyon and Long Hollow.

Transport and recreation networks are well-defined, tracing the Cascade Scenic Dr and a complex system of alpine routes such as the Alpine Loop Winter Trl and North Fork Trl. To the east, the map captures the transition into the Deer Creek Reservoir basin, fed by the North Fork Provo River and Provo Deer Creek. This contemporary survey reveals the modern infrastructure of a premiere mountain recreation area, from the Lower Lift Rd in the ski runs to the developed areas of Weeks Bench and Soldier Hollow.
