The Eau Claire River and its numerous tributaries define the drainage patterns of this Eau Claire County landscape. The western edge of Augusta is the primary center of commerce, situated where Us-12 and Wi-27 intersect. Outside the township, the smaller settlement of Rodell serves as a local waypoint along the highway. To the north, Dells Millpond collects the waters of Bridge Cr, creating a significant local water feature. The terrain is marked by distinctive rises and depressions, including Moldenhauer Hill in the northwest and Scott Valley in the southwest. Local aviation history is represented by Grandpa's Farm Airport, located east of the river. The map also traces a dense network of namesake creeks, such as Bears Grass Cr and Thompson Valley Cr, which cut through the agricultural lands of western Wisconsin.
