Pawnee National Grassland dominates the western and southern reaches of this landscape, marking the high plains terrain along the border of Weld and Logan counties. The drainage patterns here are defined by several seasonal watercourses including Cedar Cr in the north and Twomile Cr in the central portion of the quadrangle. These ephemeral streams, along with Spring Cr and Brush Cr, trace the subtle undulations of the prairie where section lines and county roads provide the only formal structure to the land. The presence of Spring Draw further illustrates the hydrology of this semi-arid region, where water management and ranching access remain critical. A network of rural routes, such as Co RD 153 and Co RD 112, follow the historic Public Land Survey System grid, anchoring the remote corners of these townships.
