Mahogany Mtn and the High Rock Canyon Hills dominate this high-desert landscape in the northwestern corner of Nevada. The terrain is defined by a series of springs and seasonal drainages, such as Virgin Cr, Sand Cr, and the isolated Rock Spring. These water sources were historically vital for transit and survival in the Great Basin.
