Stillwater Reservoir dominates the lower landscape of this Adirondack region, serving as the central hydrological feature for the remote Beaver River settlement. The terrain is a dense network of glacial ponds and lakes, including the sprawling Salmon Lake, Witchhopple Lake, and the isolated Negro Lake in the northeast. Higher elevations are marked by granite peaks such as Sitz Mtn and Summit Mtn, which overlook a complex drainage system fed by the Middle Br Oswegatchie River.
