The landscape transitions from the peaks of Snowslide Mountain and Blizzardine Peak down into the pastoral opening of the Wet Mountain Valley. Evidence of local water management and ranching infrastructure appears in the form of the Wolf Windmill and Doe-Watkins Windmill near the border of Huerfano County.
