Belews Lake dominates the southern landscape of this Piedmont quadrangle where the borders of Stokes, Rockingham, Forsyth, and Guilford counties converge. The reservoir's irregular shoreline is defined by flooded valleys once carved by Belews Creek and West Belews Creek, now supporting a modern Powerplant and significant infrastructure including a large Tailings Pond and multiple substations. The industrial character of the area is balanced by long-standing rural settlements, notably Pine Hall to the north, situated along the Dan River.

A network of local congregations serves as the map's historical backbone, featuring several churches such as Withers Chapel, Pine Hall Ch, and Morning Star Ch. Industrial history is visible in the earthworks of the Claypits north of the Town Fork Creek and a Quarry near the Forsyth county line. Further north, the landscape transitions back to the river valley where the Dan River snakes toward the Rockingham border, passing by small developments like Eden Ch South.
