Isle Royale National Park dominates this northern Michigan survey, showcasing the complex archipelago of the northeast corner of Isle Royale. The landscape is defined by the prominent Greenstone Ridge and a series of elongated harbors and inlets, including Belle Harbor, Tobin Harbor, and Rock Harbor, that reflect the underlying volcanic geology. Numerous small islands such as Amygdaloid Island, Captain Kidd Island, and Diamond Island dot the Lake Superior waters, creating a intricate network of channels like the Amygdaloid Channel.
