Sheep Mountain and the prominent Big Ten Peak anchor this high-desert Nevada landscape in Nye County. The area is defined by a series of rugged drainages and canyons, most notably Hunts Canyon and the expansive Big White Sage Canyon to the north. These natural features directed the path of primitive roads such as NFD 007 RD and NFD 127 RD, which follow the contours of the terrain rather than a strict grid.
