Bird Spring provides a rare point of named hydrography in this arid stretch of the Mojave Desert, located within the north-central portion of the quadrangle. The landscape is defined by the elevation changes of the Gravel Hills, where topographical contours reveal a complex network of dry washes and ridges. This modern survey tracks the section lines of the Public Land Survey System, including t31s r43e and t32s r44e, which organize this largely undeveloped terrain.
