Blackstone Desert occupies the arid highlands of Owyhee County, characterized by a sparse network of seasonal watercourses and remote access roads. The landscape is defined by the sharp descent into the Bruneau-Jarbidge-Rivers Wilderness in the southeast corner, where the terrain breaks toward the deep canyons of the Sheep Creek Wild and Scenic River. This area serves as a critical transition point between the open sagebrush steppe and the protected river corridors that shape the regional ecology.
