Bob Thompson Peak anchors the northwestern corner of this Cochise County landscape, where the high elevations of the Huachuca Mountains descend into the high desert plains. Managed as part of the Coronado National Forest, this rugged terrain is cut by Montezuma Canyon before flattening toward the international boundary. Along the southern edge, the line between the United States and Mexico is clearly delineated, marking the border between Arizona and Sonora.
