The Clark Fork river valley serves as the primary corridor for movement and settlement in this portion of Missoula County. The community of Bonner is situated at the northwestern corner of the map where the river bends sharply, while Turah lies further east along the valley floor. Transportation is defined by Fas 210 and several local routes like Turah Rd and Crystal Creek Rd that navigate the narrow habitable land between the water and the rising slopes of Bonner Mtn.

Much of the southern terrain is dominated by the Lolo National Forest, characterized by steep drainages including Vista Gulch, Yuma Gulch, and Tule Gulch. These gulches descend from prominent heights such as Moccasin Ridge. Evidence of local industry is found at the Quarrie site located near the riverbank, reflecting the extraction-based economy that has historically shaped this mountain landscape. Numerous small tributaries like Greenough Cr and Kendall Cr feed into the main river channel, dictating the placement of early homesteads and modern developments alike.
