1984 Map of Bootleg Ridge

USGS Topo · Published 1984

About this map

Bootleg Ridge defines the central topography of this high desert terrain on the border of Eddy and Lea Counties. In the mid-1980s, this landscape was characterized by an extensive network of energy extraction infrastructure, including numerous Gas Wells, Oil Wells, and a dedicated Oil Field in the southern portion of the quadrangle. Transport of resources is evidenced by the prominent Pipeline corridors cutting across the arid basins.
