Bradford Canyon and its complex network of drainage systems define this high-desert portion of San Juan County. The terrain is characterized by deeply incised canyons and high, flat-topped features such as Mustang Mesa and Alkali Point. The name Montezuma appears repeatedly across the landscape, applied to Montezuma Canyon, Montezuma Creek, and the primary transit corridor, Montezuma Creek Rd.
