Painted Robe Cr and Spring Cr carve through the high plains of this interior Montana landscape where the borders of Golden Valley, Musselshell, and Yellowstone counties converge. The terrain is defined by the southwestern edges of the Bull Mountains, showing a transition from the drainage basins of Sand Cr in the south to the more complex topography of the north. The area's agricultural and ranching foundations are evident in the network of local routes such as Boxcar Rd, Homestead Rd, and Swartz Nelson Rd. Large wetlands are scattered throughout the central and southern sections, particularly near the intersection of Dailey Rd and Daly Rd. This 2017 survey provides a detailed look at the rural section lines and local infrastructure, including Cemetery Rd and the prominent north-south corridor of Buffalo Hwy.
