The landscape is a complex network of glacial features and volcanic remnants, including the Bend Glacier, Crook Glacier, and Prouty Glacier. Water is central to the area's character, with alpine basins holding Green Lakes, Todd Lake, and the expansive Sparks Lake in the southwest.
