Sugarmill Woods and the northern reaches of the Annutteliga Hammock define this landscape where Citrus and Hernando counties meet. The terrain is marked by a high density of karst features typical of the Brooksville Ridge, including numerous depressions and named basins like Lizzie Hart Sink, Brush Sink, and Stage Pond. Significant portions of the quadrangle are protected within the Withlacoochee State Forest Tri, which is traversed by the Florida National Scenic Tri.
