Gallups Millpond and several other significant impoundments like McMath Pond and Snelling Pond define this rural landscape on the border of Muscogee and Chattahoochee Counties. The terrain is deeply etched by a network of waterways including Upatoi Cr, Pine Knot Cr, and Little Pine Knot Cr, which drain the undulating timbered lands and training areas southeast of Columbus.
