Canandaigua Lake dominates the eastern half of this landscape, its western shores defined by a sequence of dramatic ravines and points. From Menteth Point south to Black Point, the terrain rises steeply from the water, carved by numerous drainage features such as Barnes Gully and Seneca Point Gully. The settlement of Cheshire serves as a central hub for the upland agricultural region, while smaller lakeside communities like Grange Landing, Crystal Beach, and Cottage City dot the shoreline.
