Goodwater sits along the northern corridor of this landscape, positioned where the legendary Old US Hwy 66 and the modern Interstate cross a network of desert drainages. This high desert terrain is defined by the braided path of the Puerco River and its numerous seasonal tributaries, including Lithodendron Wash and Winsor Wash. The southern portion of the map is dominated by the protected expanses of Petrified Forest National Park, where the land rises toward geological landmarks like Twin Buttes and the prominent Ramsey Slide.
