Cathedral Peak and Pyramid Peak command the high-altitude skyline of this 2015 topographic survey, marking the intersection of Yellowstone National Park and the Shoshone National Forest. This wilderness area in the Absaroka Range is characterized by dramatic elevation changes and a network of drainages including Jones Cr, Mist Cr, and Cold Cr. The terrain is practically devoid of modern infrastructure, with the notable exception of the Mist Creek Trail winding through the northern reaches near Frost Lake.
