About this map

Zia Pueblo lands and the northern reaches of the Rio Rancho development meet in this contemporary topographic study of the Sandoval County landscape. The terrain is defined by a series of significant drainage systems, including the Arroyo de los Montoyas, Arroyo Piedra Parada, and Arroyo Pantadeleon, which carve through the high desert floor toward the southeast. Prominent volcanic or erosional landforms like Cerro Conejo, Cerrito Picacho, and Cerrito Redondo provide distinct vertical relief against the broad expanse of La Ceja. While the northern sections remain largely open and dominated by the natural drainage of Arroyo Ojito, the southeastern corner shows the modern residential grid of Rio Rancho Estates, where streets such as Perlman Rd NW and Rainbow Blvd NE push into the desert fringe near Laguna de Baca.
