Chase Lake and Munsungan Lake dominate this northern Maine backcountry, where a complex network of glacial ponds and watercourses defines the terrain of T8 R11 WELS. The landscape is characterized by prominent high ground such as Ragged Mtn and Peaked Mtn, which overlook a series of smaller water bodies including Echo Lake and the series of Currier Ponds. A notable hydrological feature is Thirtyfoot Falls, located along the drainage near First Currier Pond.
